De Paris avec l´amour

23 Apr

Here we are, just arrived to Paris last night. Manu feels so good to be home, and I do also. Last time was too many months ago! The spring is in its blossom and we cant be outside without jackets! Wohooo! Today we´ve been working on some lyrics and music but honestly, we´ve spend most of the time outside in the sun 🙂

We had the first shows of our tour in Breda, Zwolle and Zurich. We just love the Netherlands, everyone seems so happy and they were taking good care of us. The first venue, Mezz Cafe in Breda (south of Holland) was small and cosy venue where they have live music couple times a week. Definitely a place worth checking out if you´re around there. Here´s a picture we already posted once but here it´s again. Manu setting up at Mezz Cafe:

A VERY filling breakfast in Breda the next morning, before heading to Zwolle:

Breakfast Breda

We hopped on the train and headed a bit more north towards Zwolle. We walked around the city and it seemed really nice too. There was a very cute little teashop where we found some good tea and infusion. We didn’t have too much time before the soundcheck, so we basically went straight to the venue. The main venue is called Hedon and we played in a venue called Popfront attached to Hedon, a bit more intime place for live music. Once again audience was warm and welcoming! Thank you everyone for coming out!

The next day, on Saturday we took the plane towards Switzerland! We had our third show at Komplex 457 event called Sounds Nordic, Sounds Good. We played with Johnossi, Amanda Jenssen, Helldorado and The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. The place was packed and mood was great. After the show we got to spend two more days in Zurich with Eva´s cousins place, what a relaxing couple days! 🙂

On Friday we will do something we´ve been waiting for SOOO long; going to get Skipper!!
Until then, we wish lots of sun and happiness to your days. Thank you for following.

De Paris avec l´amour,

Thank you Breda!

What a beautiful mood at Mezz Cafe last night! It’s so amazing to come see new cities and play our music to new audience. We had wonderful dinner and met friends. Also made new ones.

Now we’re on our way to our second city, Zwolle. There is venue called Hedon/Popfront Cafe waiting for us! If you’re around, come stop by, its free 🙂

Pictures and more blogging to be followed.. Stay tuned!

With love,

Ps. Here’s Manu setting up last night @Mezz Cafe

European tour with Skipper!

18 Apr

Blogging again and for the next month and a half even more. We are in Amsterdam at the moment, enjoying the beautiful spring and the big sun! Yesterday we walked around the city and also passed Paradiso where we played about a month back. Today we are taking the train to Breda where we will be playing our first show (Mezz Cafe) of the European tour.

Next week after Breda, Zwolle and Zurich we are traveling to the south of France to pick up our camper, Skipper, with who (yes, its a person) we did our very first trip and Travel in Music- blog! Skipper is where this all began and most of our songs where written in. We have been waiting for this moment for SO long and now its happening!! 🙂 We will take Skipper and drive towards Germany, where we will be playing for about 10 days. That includes some TV-appearance also, more info about that to be followed later on.

Now its time to like, share and comment and get this blog on track again!
Welcome on board and thank you for traveling with us!

With much love,

Manu leaving on tour

What a weekend in by;larm festival, Oslo! We had two shows with Eliel Viitala on drums. First venue was Herr Nilsen, very local and moody pub in the middle of the city. Oh and, our album was released in Norway by Warner Music Norway on the 8th of February! 🙂

Herr Nilsen, Oslo

There was a beautiful fire place inside of many big ice cubes in the artist area! We got some warm sake and met amazing people.

Second night we played at one of the oldest venues in Oslo, a place called Gamla. It was a bit bigger venue, and it was heart-warming to see how many people showed up! Both nights were packed, thank you everyone!!

by;larm was full of Nordic music, also music in finnish was warmly welcomed over there. We met Pasi, aka Stig in the hotel lobby and got to take a battle in this football game.

This spring is very interesting and exciting for our band. We have gotten a lots of new release dates and shows including Switzerland, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and much more. Many other exciting news on the way for all of you.

Thank you so much for following,

Line of Best Fit- interview from Eurosonic

26 Jan

Hellooo eveyrone!

So couple weeks back we spent two nights at the biggest showcase festival, Eurosonic in the Netherlands. We had three great shows with our drummer, Eeti Nieminen. This festival was absolutely amazing, so well organized and people were so happy and open minded! It was a special year focusing on finnish music. We got a lot of new contacts, collaborations and much more!

Here´s a interview we got a chance to do with the leading UK online music magazine Line of Best Fit. We played our song “Stars” for them and chatted a little bit about our music. Here you go, enjoy! 🙂

Debutalbum news!

21 Oct

Once again, time has flown so fast! Though, many things have happened since our debutalbum release. First of all it was very exciting to follow how the album started to move after the release. It has hanged up nicely at the Finnish Charts and we´ve got a lot of good feedback! Thank You !!

We would love to go back in time a little bit, and see what has been happening in the past 2 months, here we go 🙂

17.8. (date of release) at Huvila-tent, Helsinki Festival

Eva said she has nerver been that nervous. It was not the show that was tickling in the stomach, but the release of our very first album! So much work, thinking, laughing, crying, new collaborations, and now all of it was out… just like that! We felt, at the same time, very happy, relieved and also somehow empty. Making this album has been such a challenging and great experience! At Huvila-tent we played a duo set before the american singer, Madeleine Peyroux and her band. It was a great … let me say it again …. Amazing night.

21.9. Reeperbahn festival, Hamburg, Germany // 22.9. Monsters of Pop, Tampere, Finland

This weekend at the end of September was full of traveling, meeting new people and playing our music at two beautiful venues. First, on Friday we got to play a wonderful showcase/festival : “Reeperbahn Festival”, Hamburg. This was our first show in Germany and daaaamn we want to come back!! We have to say that we can’t forget the home-brewed Festival beer. Mmmm! St. Pauli and around was a super cool area, with many small restaurants and cafes full of smily and bohemian people 🙂

Here´s a morning view from our Reeperbahn hotel:

The next morning we took a plane back to Helsinki, from where we drove straight to Tampere for the “Monsters of Pop- festival”. Wonderful Telakka was warm as always, and you guys sang beautifully. I think some of it is on youtube 🙂

Well… It was magical.

28.9. Lutakko, Jyväskylä and unfortunate cancellation of the show

We’ve been looking to come back with the band in Jyväskylä for so long and what a better place than Lutakko. Our band had arrived from Helsinki and at soundcheck started to wonder where was Eva and Manu. Well. Manu got a horrible stomach pain and fever about 30 minutes before the supposed soundcheck. Our family friend, a doctor came to check Manu out, and ordered us to go straight away to the hospital. Manu´s pain got worse and worse, and in 10 minutes we were at the hospital. They checked him out again and figured that they had to cut his appendix. How now, just minutes before the show this could happen?
The news spread fast in the social media and among friends, so luckily most of the people heard what happened.

If you are one of those people, just know that you can use your ticket at our replacing date 7/12.

10.10 Tavastia, Helsinki

We did our first album release show in Helsinki with the full band at the most known venue of Finland, Tavastia. Oohhh it was nice to play with a cellist, Iiris Tötterström. She brought so much emotion and beautyness (is that even a word?) into our music! Thank you Iiris and our band Eeti, Ville and Leissi! We love you!

To all of you guys there, Thank you !!… it was an amazing evening 🙂

20.10 Music & Media, Tampere

“The annual Finnish music industry bash Music & Media gathers together over 700 music business professionals – that is, some 100 top notch guests from all over the world and all the key players of the Finnish music industry. Showcasefestival Lost In Music -festival presents nearly 100 Finland’s hottest new artists at 12 venues in Tampere, just within walking distance. Music & Media Finland is organised by Suomen Musiikki & Media-Tapahtumat S.M.M. Oy in co-operation with Lost In Music and Music Export Finland.”

That was easier to copy-paste than to explain myself 🙂 hihi. Anyways, we got to be part of Music & Media 2012 on Saturday 20th at Telakka (yes, the same venue where we played for Monsters of Pop). The day started with couple hours of interviews with very interesting journalists from France, Holland and Sweden.
There was a nice little buzz all around the beautiful Tampere, when the city was filled with music and media people from all over the world.
It was a very special evening, and we did our “encore” closer to the people. We left our mics and came in the middle of the packed Telakka. That was just Wow, just WOW. You could almost hear people breathing!
After our show we stayed there to listen to Phantom, an up and coming finnish electro duo. Check them out if you already havent! We got a lot of new contacts and friends 🙂

Well, thats about it for now. We have more news coming up this week so stay tuned! In the meanwhile, look at this last picture and think if you should get one of those too.. 🙂

Lots of love,
